Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the EGA
Stitch-Ins
Our stitch-ins are informal gatherings online and open to everyone. We are a group of enthusiastic stitchers and we gather every Wednesday morning for a couple of hours and once a month on the first Thursday evening. We stitch, talk, share ideas and information, and show projects. About 20-30 people attend.
Chapter Meetings
We are currently meeting online once a month on the third Thursday evening of the month. All are welcome to attend. About 20-30 people attend.
The meeting consists of three segments:
-
Chapter business where we update our membership on the chapter business
-
Golden Needles & Show & Tell
-
A Short Program - The program can be anything from watching a slide show, to learning a new technique, to doing a project.
The purpose of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter (SCVC) of The Embroiderer's Guild of America, Inc. (EGA) is to educate and promote technique, color, and design in needlework, and to encourage interest in this creative work.
The chapter is part of the Greater Pacific Region of the Embroiderers' Guild of America. This chapter is part of the Embroiderers' Guild of America, a 501(c)(3) organization.
EGA is the Embroiderers’ Guild of America – Where Needle Art Lives™
EGA is deeply dedicated to the study, preservation, and promotion of needle arts. We are a national not-for-profit organization. Membership is open to anyone interested in needlework -- from the beginner to the professional. Members work within local chapters, regions, and/or at-large networks to improve their skills and knowledge.
The mission of the Embroiderers' Guild of America is to inspire passion for the needle arts through education and the celebration of its heritage.
The Greater Pacific Region (GPR) is one of 13 regions that comprise EGA. GPR encompasses northern California, northern Nevada, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, and Hawaii. The region serves as a link between chapters and the national organization and aids in effective cooperation and communication among its member chapters.
Within GPR there are 24 chapters. Individual Chapters offer educational programs and resources to enhance and improve your needlework skills. Your chapter membership entitles you to participate in National and Regional educational opportunities such as seminars and correspondence courses, and you receive the quarterly magazine Needle Arts. A complete list of chapters appears in the GPR Chapter Directory.
